Wedding photographer in Miami | Noelle and John Paul’s engagement session in Miami was one for the books! Because they flew in from Texas solely for this shoot, I wanted to spoil them and devote the whole day to their photos! We started off with a sunrise session in downtown Miami. We had a bit of cloud coverage that gave us a break from the heat and allowed us to take advantage of multiple viewpoints.

I went to high school with Noelle and John Paul, so it was so much fun getting together again after several years to celebrate such an exciting time! Just look at the way these two admire each other; their chemistry is undeniable. Their love and passion is evident in their photos!

Let’s talk style.
I loved the combination of Noelle’s chic shoes and flirty dress! She has always had an impeccable sense of style! Noelle and John Paul’s outfits reflect their personalities, coordinate well, and match the scenery beautifully! These neutral tones photograph well in camera and still pop!

A romantic beach engagement
Leading up to our sunset session at Matheson Hammock Park, we encountered a lot of rain. Though it is typical to rain daily in Miami, it was looking more and more like it would affect our session. However, we didn’t want to give up since it was our only opportunity with everyone flying out the next day. The plan was to meet at the Virginia Key lighthouse. Unfortunately, an accident resulted in the only bridge to Virginia Key to close. At this point, I was literally sitting in traffic, blocked in on all sides with no end in sight (cue the panic).

I was determined to find a solution! Thankfully, I planned to arrive at the initial site about an hour early so I knew I had some buffer time. I immediately called Noelle and John Paul to update them on the current situation and to have them sit tight rather than getting in the same mess I was currently stuck in. My next call was to the amazing couple I was staying with, Guido and Virginia Trinidad, for recommendations on where we could go (still praying for the ability to get out of traffic as everything was at a standstill).

As soon as I hung up the phone with a new plan in place, officers began moving traffic starting with my lane! Within a matter of seconds, I was completely out of traffic and headed to Matheson Hammock Park. At this point, I was driving like a mad-man through on and off drizzles of rain and rolling dark clouds praying that Jesus would clear the skies and allow us to have the best possible session.

An answered prayer
Looking at their photos, you can see that God did exactly that! I stepped out of the car and saw the dark clouds disappear and the most incredible sunset painted across the sky. All I can say is God is good! The weather could not have been more perfect as we celebrated and captured endless smiles and laughter.
