There is something special about a wedding day that feels just as joyful as it is beautiful. Caitlyn and Nick’s wedding at Camp Lucy was exactly that: timeless details, a beautiful Texas Hill Country setting, and a whole lot of laughter with the people they love most.
With Heavenly Day Events leading the planning, every part of the celebration felt intentional while still leaving plenty of room for everyone to simply enjoy the day.
Getting Ready at Camp Lucy
The morning began tucked away in the cottages at Camp Lucy, where Caitlyn spent time getting ready alongside her closest friends and family. Adore Makeup Boutique + Salon created her classic bridal look, while the soft blue getting-ready sets and a porch full of laughter made the morning feel relaxed and celebratory.
Father + Daughter First Look
Before the ceremony, Caitlyn shared a first look with her dad. His reaction was one of those moments that needed very little from us. We simply stepped back and gave them the space to take it all in.
Bride + Bridesmaids Portraits
Caitlyn’s bridesmaids brought so much personality to the day, including a mix of green dresses that felt perfectly at home against the Hill Country landscape. Rather than making portraits feel overly formal, we gave them space to move, talk, laugh, and enjoy being together! The result was a mix of classic portraits and the in-between moments that feel much more like them.
Groom + Groomsmen Portraits
The guys had plenty of breathing room in the afternoon, too. We photographed the portraits we needed, then stepped back and let Nick spend time with his closest friends. Drinks on the porch, conversations, plenty of laughter, and absolutely no need to turn every minute into a photo opportunity. Giving the wedding party time to actually enjoy the day is just as important as documenting it, and usually leads to some of our favorite photographs!
Caitlyn & Nick’s First Look
Before the rest of the day unfolded, Caitlyn and Nick shared a first look. It gave them a few quiet minutes together to take everything in, laugh, and simply enjoy being with each other before joining their favorite people! These are the kinds of moments we love making room for on a wedding day. Nothing rushed, just time together.
A Camp Lucy Wedding Ceremony
Caitlyn and Nick exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends on the lawn at Camp Lucy. Cocktail Hour
Caitlyn and Nick chose to join their guests for cocktail hour, giving them even more time to be present with the people they invited to celebrate alongside them. Instead of disappearing for photos, they were able to grab a drink, mingle, and enjoy the celebration they spent so much time creating!
Bride + Groom Portraits
As friends and family made their way inside, we wandered the property for newlywed portraits before Caitlyn and Nick shared a private dinner together. Camp Lucy has no shortage of beautiful places to photograph!
Dinner, Dancing & Celebrating
Inside the reception, layers of candlelight paired with understated florals create a warm, inviting space for dinner. Guests gathered around long tables, raised glasses, shared stories, and settled into the evening together!
Then Matchmaker Band took over, and the dance floor stayed full!
Caitlyn took a moment to sit and chat with her grandparents, a sweet reminder to slow down and be present, and take advantage of sweet opportunities with your loved ones.
Caitlyn changed into a fun reception dress, and the rest of the night was exactly what a wedding celebration should be: loud, joyful, and spent surrounded by your favorite people.
